Generally, in order to become a PhD student at NTNU, one needs funding for a research fellowship. Very often this funding is based on research project grants that faculty is able to secure.

Applicants for the PhD program at the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management must have finished, or nearly finished, their Master program, or an education of a similar level. In this group within the department, the applicants must have background in one or more of the following subjects: Mathematics/OR/Statistics/Econometrics/Finance.
