Top 10 CSR Research Findings of 2011
Business as an Instrument of Peace
The 2011
Research Symposium is organized in Oslo, on 17th October. The Symposium
will investigate how business can work together with other stakeholders
to promote the building of trust, leading to stability and peace.
The Research Symposium is in three parts. A breakfast debate at
Litteraturhuset is followed by a presentation of detailed
research findings at Oslo Konserthus – transport will be
arranged. A late afternoon gathering at Oslo City Hall will
discuss the highlights from the day’s presentations. A number of
the contributors are English speakers, and the symposium will be
conducted in English.

ISO, Oslo 2011
Standards Norway hosted the 18th Annual
Meeting of the Environmental Management Committee ISO/TC
207 from the 25 June to 1 July in Oslo. Experts from the
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) took part
in the development of the international environmental standards.
Annik Magerholm Fet, Professor at NTNU and chair of the
Norwegian mirror committee on product related management
systems, is
interviewed about why environmental standards are important.
Christofer Skaar, PhD Candidate at NTNU,
Norway and member of the Norwegian standardization committee is
interviewed about life cycle perspective on carbon footprint
standards.

Special edition of the Nordic Journal of Applied Ethics
The Nordic Journal of Applied Ethics has recently published a
special issue on Corporate Social Responsibility based on the
papers submitted to the
National CSR Conference arranged on December 1-2, 2010 at
NTNU.

Professor Annik Magerholm Fet participated in the
14th EMAN Conference: Accounting for Climate Change – What and
How to Measure on January 24-25, 2011. On January 21,
2011 Annik Fet also took part in a Closing Conference of the
Sustainable Consumption, Production and Communication project
funded by the Norway Grant, where she opened the conference with
a presentation on Environmental Product Declarations. Both

Researcher Børge Andreas Johansen attended
Traceability
of
Ecolabelled
Seafood
Conference
in Copenhagen, Denmark on January 19-20, 2011. Please
check our Annual Report 2010 for more information.
PhD Candidate Christofer Skaar participated in the
development of ISO 14067, a standard for the quantification and
communication of greenhouse gases (GHG) associated with products
(goods and services) in the value or supply chain. The
meeting took place in Trieste, Italy. A commenting and voting
period in advance of the next meeting (June 2011 in Oslo,
Norway) will decide if the standard is taken to the level of
Draft International Standard (DIS). If the vote in Oslo is
positive the standard could potentially be an International
Standard (IS) by spring 2011.
